OLE Library requirements
The best way to get the OLE Library up and running is to have a place to host it and a person who can work with the OLE team to set it up.
The easiest hosting solution would be a Virtual Private Server (VPS) or dedicated server, but if someone is willing to install the required components on an existing shared server that could work too.
Minimum specs:
- 1GB of memory
- 1 - 1.0-1.2 GHz 2007 Opteron or 2007 Xeon processor
- 40GB Hard Drive should be enough to begin with.
The most basic skills we need on site is someone who can setup and maintain a linux (preferably Ubuntu) server and give us remote ssh access. Ideally this would be someone who could do some of the setup as well. In that case, the more of the following technologies that they are familiar with, the better.
- Xen - http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/DomU
- Our current Library is running on a Xen VM but this is not a requirement, it would just keep our platforms more homogenous.
- Linux
- We like Ubuntu, but any Debian based variant should be fine. Ultimatly we could get it running on any OS, Linux or otherwise, it will just be more work.
- Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) all required for Drupal
- Java
- Tomcat
- Solr- full text search of documents
- Tomcat
- Drupal
- This is the main Platform the Library is built on, so the more experience the better. At this point, because our system is heavily customized, most of the Drupal setup will most likely be done by our team in Canada.
