OLE Network

OLE General Assembly 2010

1. OLE International, OLE Consortium, and OLE Centers: Recommendations for Collaboration

a. Fundraising

i. OLE International should help with:

1. Local fundraising capacity-building

2. Collect and share information on general sources of funding

ii. OLE Centers should share with OLE international the types of projects they are seeking funding for

b. OLE International Clearinghouse

i. OLE Centers should come up with local strategies and present them to OLE International

ii. OLE International can collect and synthesize these efforts and provide a repository of best practices

c. Common Language

i. English should be the common language for all OLE Consortium materials.  Original content in other languages should also be available in English whenever possible.

ii. OLE Centers should work to find translators to translate existing content and documentation into English so that it can be shared across the network

iii. An English translation component should be built into all future project grants

d. Center Formation

i. Add “step 0” to 5-step strategy, which is the actual formation of a Center

ii. OLE International should compile a better “franchising kit”

iii. To better emphasize the “analysis” component of Step 1, analysis should be done using some standard template of statistics/information needed before one can proceed with a given approach or innovation

e. Consortium

i. Move responsibility from OLE International to OLE Consortium to hold each Center accountable to 5-step strategy
